The pilot case emerges as a downstream service, based on s EO data information regarding key oceanographic variables. An operational web-based service is developed, to be used stakeholders that are engaged in the wild fisheries sector and can be used for taking decisions when choosing the most favourable fishing zones.

The service directly address multiple categories of users, from individual fishermen, to mid-size and industrial fishing companies. Since Turkey is the main actor in the Black Sea fisheries industry, users from this country will be mainly targeted, in addition to the ones located in the EU countries bordering the Black Sea: Bulgaria and Romania.

Forecast data used for the services in this pilot area are retreived from Copernicus Marine Services (CMEMS), which provides data based on sattelite Earth Observations in combination with in-situ measurements and numerical models.
